We spent a lovely morning at Church, and in the late afternoon we headed to our friends for Easter dinner. Andrew was excited to carry the chocolate eggs for our Easter egg hunt:

April: Coloring Easter Eggs

We spent an hour on Good Friday coloring Easter eggs. It is not my favorite holiday tradition, but luckily the kids are getting big enough to do it themselves.

April: Town Easter Egg Hunt

Every year our town does an Easter egg hunt the week before Easter. The weather is usually mild, and the hunt is usually over in 2 minutes, but the bounce houses and petting zoo add to the fun. We always run into friends when we go, whether we plan it or not!

From March: Easter 2013

Easter 2013 was a rainy, stormy morning. We heard a huge clap of thunder right before leaving for Church that took out our cable and internet for a few days and completely killed our Wii. But other than that it was a nice day as a family.

From March: Easter Egg Hunt

We love going to the town Easter egg hunt every year. This year it was a little rainy, so there weren't as many people there. We still had a blast (and got a LOT of candy)!

Easter 2012

The Easter bunny found our house and left some treats! The kids woke up to this:

You may notice a theme: Disney! We had been keeping our upcoming Disney trip a surprise, but we kept slipping and mentioning it in front of the kids. Luckily they never noticed, but we decided to tell them anyway. I carefully curated what I put in their Easter baskets, and they still didn't notice! Not quite the effect I was going for...

 Yeah, they didn't get it. But they still loved digging through their baskets.

 Later we tried to get pictures in their Easter finery. This was the best we got.

 Then we tried outdoors, but Andrew tried to crawl away.

 Success! Mostly. Except for Maddie's creepy smile. Hey girls, give Andrew a hug, let's see how he likes that...

Easter Egg Hunt

Back at the end of March, we went to the town's annual Easter Egg Hunt. It is always over very quickly, but luckily they provide other entertainment as well.

Easter Prep

Dave was off on Friday (hooray!) so we took advantage of a free afternoon to dye our Easter eggs. This is the first year that we've bothered to do it, so we went pretty basic: Paas coloring kit with Emma using the wax crayon to scribble on the eggs.



Madeline was there too, but she preferred her snack:
