Atonement by Ian McEwan

I've been meaning to read Atonement for a while now and I just finished it a couple of days ago. It has all the marks of great fiction: vivid descriptions, lyrical prose, characters with human flaws, an ending you didn't expect...I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. If you haven't read it, do. And then we can talk about it.

I read it a couple of weeks ago and I loved it. I still think about it also, it was so depressing.

Jess! I read this too over the holidays...and was blown away. Seriously, I thought it was amazing. Then I went and saw the movie and thought THAT was amazing. Actually, I had to read the ending twice because I didn't believe it.

Have you read anything else by him? I also read " The Road" by Cormac McCarthy over the holiday- another great read.

Haven't read the book as I am not much of a reader. Sure wish I was. But went and saw the movie and absolutley loved it. Chad and I kept saying it was one of the best movies we've seen in a very long time. And by no means am I artsy but I loved the musical score in the movie and the cinematography is amazing. Ok, maybe I am a wannabe artsy! LOL.
