House Update

We currently have 3 homes. Lest this sound appealing, I assure you it's not. Particularly when you have to pay for them on less than a "Lifestyles-of-the-Rich-and-Famous" salary.

Home #1: A 2-bedroom condo in Jersey City, NJ, that we don't need and don't want. We have given up on selling it this year and are currently looking for renters. If you know of anyone who'd be interested, please please please email me.

Home #2: A 3-bedroom apartment in Rockwall, TX that we don't want but really need. I don't know how old this complex is, but it has charming qualities like circuit breakers that randomly stop working, thus rendering your stove unusable at the worst of times (like when your toddler is standing next to you chanting "eat! eat!"). Really, it's not that bad, and it's nice to have an extra bedroom/study/storage room. But I don't particularly want to be here and sort of feel like now that I'm in suburbia, I really shouldn't have to haul groceries up two flights of stairs.

Home #3: A six-bedroom house that we really want but isn't quite ready for occupancy yet. Though, to be fair, it's getting really close and we should be in by Halloween. (We give up the lease on home #2 on November 3rd, and if we find renters for home #1 all should be pretty good. If not, well, home #3 is going to be pretty empty for a while and we'll be eating lots of rice and noodles).

I hope you find renters. I don't know if you remember Ryan Dorman from the ward, but he found someone that was moving out here to room with him from some LDS site...maybe you could list on something like that and find someone that is moving out here that would want your place. Just a thought.

I'd been curious how things were going for you guys. Good luck with it all!! Your new place is amazing and Halloween is right around the corner! Hooray! You have 3 homes and we have none, too bad we can't balance each other out (we have had an offer in on a house since June and still no word so now we are looking at rentals but theres nothing good available right now... so who knows how long we'll be at my parents...scary thought..)

I love the 3rd house! And 6 bedrooms? I am soooooo jealous! But, glad I only have 2 homes right now instead of 3. I found great renters for our house in Memphis through Craigslist. (Just an idea, but you probably have already done that!!!)

wow...#3 is amazing. slight price difference between Tx & NJ huh!!! Got a little more in Tx i bet! hehe!!! I hope you get renters for #1 so you can get #3 full & beautiful and make it the place of your dreams quickly! Although that port-a-potty will make for a fun halloween prop!!!

Stinks about #1, still, my sympathy isn't pouring out like it should. Strange. Oh, maybe it has to do with a 6 bedroom house in a place where snow is considered a fun luxury.

I hope you find renters soon! I will keep my eyes and ears open to anyone who is looking for a place. TX sounds GREAT! Ah, someday we too may find suburbia living, someday...

Jessica-
i kind-of understand the in-between stage where you are in "suburbia" but not really IN suburbia. We were in the in-between stage for 5 months or so also when we were living with my parents. But the wait is SOOOO worth it. And your house looks amazing. I think everyone should live in NYC/ NJ so they appreciate all the space!!! I'll have to keep checking your blog to get updates when you move in. Congrats and best of luck with the move and on selling/renting the other two.
