(South) Westward Ho!

Some of you have speculated that something big has been in the works for us since I've been kind of silent lately. The answer is yes. I've been waiting for a few weeks to post this until things are definite, and they're not completely yet, but I thought it was time to mention it anyway.

(Fanfare...)

We're moving to Dallas!

A few months ago, Dave and I decided we were done with New York. Dave is sick of the hours, he'd worked like six weekends in a row, and we'd had it. So we scheduled a trip to Dallas in March and Dave had a couple of interviews. He recieved two offers and has accepted a position at Jones Day.

Emma and I tagged along on Dave's interview trip and went looking at some homes. We fell in love with a fabulous new community called Woodcreek Fate. Technically, the subdivision is in Fate, Texas, but the address and school system is in Rockwall (yes, that is of Jason Castro of American Idolfame). We went out to Dallas again at the end of April and signed a contract to build a home, which should be finished in the Fall.

Isn't that a lovely piece of land? On a cul-de-sac and everything.

The one thing that is holding us back is the sale of our condo. It's been on the market for a couple of months now and we've had a lot of people come to see it, but no bites yet. Is anyone looking for a lovely two-bedroom just minutes from New York??

How do you think Emma looks as a Texan? This was taken at the Fort Worth Zoo.

Congratulations!! Talk about opposite housing markets.

Call me dense-is your family from Dallas? I know where your grandparents live...

I hear great things about their neighborhood water park/pools. Congrats again!!

When do you leave? We're headed to NY for an anniversary trip in early July.

Yay!! I am excited for you guys. I think you got a really great piece of land. I grew up in a culdesac, they are the best because your kids can play outside and not have to always worry about cars. I told Jer that I always want to live in a culdesac. Good luck with everything, you guys will definitely be missed.

Oh my expletive!

Eastern they-don't-school-well-in-the-West, the-West-isn't-green, no-way-I'm-living-in-the-West Feuz is moving to TEXAS? Well, I guess Texas is southwest. Or, really, I guess it's central since the rest of the world circles vaguely around it.

Congratulations. It will be fun to have you 10 hours closer. Still 10 hours away, but 10 hours closer.

Much love.

Congrats Jess! I am so excited for you guys, but bummed you're moving away! (Not that we see each other now anyway...)

When are you leaving? Any chance I can see you (and meet Emma!) before you leave?
